Ruby Leadership Certificate
RUBY CERTIFICATE FOR INFORMATION MANAGEMENT AND DIGITAL AGE LEADERSHIP
The Ruby Certificate program is designed to help students become discerning members of the
information society, able to find and evaluate information quickly and with confidence. Upon
completion of the program students will be: able to sift through the massive amounts of
information thrown at us in this society; capable of evaluating sources of information for
accuracy and relevancy; confident in their ability to do solid research crucial to the decision making
process; and aware of the ethical issues involving the use of information. Though
particularly useful for students in their first and second years of college, these skills will help
anyone save precious time by increasing efficiency in their personal and professional lives.
The Ruby Certificate will be awarded upon completion of eight workshops, including the four
required workshops (Creating e-Portfolios for the Job Market, Critical Inquiry in Research, Fair Use? and Social Networking for Professionals) and submission of
