NOMINATION FORM

Purpose: In 2011, the College established a new Advisory Committee on Volunteer and Service Programs to support the mission of developing socially responsible citizens who are engaged in serving others through community service. In March 2012, the advisory committee hosted the first annual Volunteer and Service Awards Dinner and presented seven awards to Brent Sanderson, Rebecca May, Jessica Shatzel, Michael Mattiucci, Grace Trompeter, Alpha Phi Omega, Royal Lady Knights and H.O.R.S.E Rescue. The committee is agin inviting members of the college community to submit nominations for the 2013 Volunteer and Service Awards. Nominations may be submitted for both indivudals and groups by clicking the Nominaiton Form link above. The committee invites nominations, including self-nominations, from the campus and the community to recognize student volunteers, college organizations and community partner organizations engaged in service between March 1, 2012 to February 21, 2013. The nominations will be reviewed and selected by the advisory committee.

Eligibility: All current SUNY Genseo students, all recognized student organizations, and community organizations that engage SUNY Genseo students in service. Criteria: The criteria to be used in reviewing nominations for organizations will include impact on the community, services provided to clients, and impact on student volunteers. The criteria to be used in reviewing nominations for individual students will include impact on the community, services provided to clients, personal motivation, and leadership.

Volunteer and Service Recognition Dinner: The awards will be presented at the volunteer and service recognition dinner on March 26 at 6:00 pm at the Big Tree Inn. The dinner will include presentation of the awards and guest speaker Constance Christakos (C.C), Class of '83 and Senior Policy Advosr to the Human Resources Director at the U.S. Department of Labor.
